Swartz Solo Exhibition in NYC

February 15 – April 14, 2023

Jason McCoy Gallery

Evolution of Nature 23, Acrylic and mixed media on linen, mixed media 30x30” 2021

Opening Reception: Wednesday, February 15, 6–8pm

Jason McCoy Gallery is pleased to present an installation by acclaimed abstract artist Susan Swartz, opening on February 15th and running through April 14th at the gallery at the Fuller building on 57th St. in New York City.

The show focuses on the healing power of nature—the beauty, the resilience and the consistency, season after season, all of which have inspired the artist. Susan’s work addresses the dichotomy of nature to both heal and to destroy and the notion that the health of the earth is inextricably linked to human health. The selected artwork in the installation include an array of pieces from her Evolution of Nature, Contemplation, Frozen Water, Nature’s Bouquet, and Changing Seasons series. The abstractionist works, which feature organic elements and diverse colors, utilize acrylic on linen, mixed media and giclée prints to showcase the healing qualities of the natural landscape.

Susan’s distinctive style has been recognized with nine solo museum exhibitions around the world; her latest works were presented in September 2021 at a solo gallery exhibition in Berlin. Her works are in the permanent collections of the National Museum of Women in the Arts, the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA), Beijing, China, Springville Museum of Art, Utah Museum of Fine Arts, and the International Olympic Museum in Switzerland as well as the Art in Embassies Program (AIE) of the U.S. State Department.

Susan was honored by Harvard Divinity School for her unique ability to capture artistry and spirituality, receiving the Dean’s Distinguished Service Award. She was also the Official Olympic Environmental Artist for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games. Susan works and resides in Park City, Utah, and Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts where she has studios.

Jason McCoy Gallery is located in the landmark Fuller Building at 41 East 57th Street, 11th Floor New York, New York.
