Susan Swartz “Personal Path” in the Collegiate Church at Uniplatz

A bridge between art and the Church

By Kronen Zeitung

“I think it’s always good to build bridges between art and religion, especially here in the Collegiate Church, which is charged as one of the Festival sites of the first hour,” said Festival President Helga Rabl-Stadler.

The American art activist Susan’s Swartz’s works are now presented in a newly renovated baroque house of worship, built by Fischer von Erlach. As part of the art project “Art and the Church,” theSalzburg Foundation invited Swartz to exhibit her personal journey under the title A Personal Path. Her work is inspired by nature, which the environmental activist sees both as a stimulus, and as a challenge.

“This city is so rich in historical treasures, which now meet in the course of our project on contemporary, modern art,” said the president of the Salzburg Foundation, Karl Gollegger on occasion of the premiere.
