Susan Swartz Represented by Georges Bergès Gallery
Susan Swartz Studios is thrilled to announce Swartz’s representation by Georges Bergès Gallery, located in the heart of Soho, NYC. Of Swartz, Bergés said, “[Her] voice is an important one. I see her paintings as totems of hope contributing profoundly to the experiential journey that makes up the human experience. Her use of color, texture, and motion combine to create an experience unique to Susan Swartz. Great art is expansive—it opens us up so that we can feel and give more of what’s best in us. Her work is unforgettable because it carries an authenticity, sadly rare in modern life.” Welcoming Swartz to the family, Georges Bergès Gallery wrote “We are all very excited about Susan’s work in large part because so much of her journey in life is manifested in her paintings—the story of resilience and finding greater and more meaningful purpose in life.”
Swartz’s new representation kicked off with a summer group exhibition at Georges Bergès Gallery where four of her recent paintings are on view: Sunflowers 15, Sunflowers 16, Nature’s Bouquet 66, and Nature’s Bouquet 80. Beginning October 10, 2024, she will have a solo exhibition at the same location, curated by renowned art critic Donald Kuspit (read his review of her work in Whitehot Magazine of Contemporary Art here). Bergès is also hosting Swartz at the Palazzo Bembo in Italy during the 60th Venice Biennale this fall. Her work will hang alongside renowned artist Laddie John Dill who is also represented by Georges Bergès. The exhibition will run September 4 -November 24, 2024.
