In a cultural twist to Throw Back Thursdays, a year ago today on October 10, 2018 we were celebrating a pre-opening reception at PACE Gallery Beijing for Susan’s show at the Central Academy of Fine Arts Museum in China (CAFA) that ran from October 11-November 4, 2018.

After Salzburg, Koblenz and Budapest, St. Petersburg is now the fourth European location in which the American artist is staging her solo exhibition "Personal Path". On view until January 29, 2018 in the State Russian Museum are 113 of her paintings.

“Personal Path” at the Ludwig Museum in St Petersburg is the first show in Russia for Park City, Utah and Martha’s Vineyard artist Susan Swartz. More than 100 paintings from the early 2000s through the present will be on view from Tuesday, November 27, 2017 to January 28, 2018.

Susan Swartz’s highly anticipated solo exhibition Personal Path opened at the Ludwig Museum in Budapest, Hungary on Friday, December 9th, 2016; a large crowd of collectors, politicians, museum directors, and art enthusiasts were in attendance. More than 100 paintings across nine rooms are on display. The show was met with much acclaim. Walter Smerling, the Director of the Foundation of Art and Culture in Bonn, Germany declared, “There’s never been a show like this.” Personal Path is on display at the Ludwig Museum in Budapest through January 29th, 2017.

Susan Swartz Studios is thrilled to announce the upcoming solo exhibition of Personal Path at the Ludwig Museum in Budapest, Hungary. The exhibition will open Friday, December 9th. Works from previous Personal Path exhibitions as well as some of Swartz’s newest paintings will be featured.

Susan Swartz’s exhibition, Personal Path, at the Ludwig Museum in Koblenz, Germany closed August 2 after a 10-week run. The museum reported a record number of visitors who came to see the show.

At the famous Deutsches Eck, or “German Corner”, where the Rhine and Moselle rivers converge, lies one of Germany's oldest and most beautiful towns – Koblenz. It has been dedicated as a UNESCO world heritage site and is considered to be a national treasure. It is also the backdrop for Susan Swartz’s latest solo exhibition, Personal Path, where 80 of her works occupy three floors of the City’s esteemed Ludwig Museum.

The art world is legendary for taking risks, but the Catholic Church less so. That's in part why tonight's grand opening of Swartz's exhibit "A Personal Path" at the breathtaking Baroque Kollegienkirche cathedral in Salzburg is so special. It falls on May 29th, the Day of Ascension, and is a major honor and feather in the cap of the career of a American artist. The creative collaborative concept is an actual breakthrough and is making headlines in Europe for bringing contemporary art to an unlikely setting.

Harmony is a state of coexistence, it is achieved when two or more entities complement each other and enhance one another’s effects. It is ubiquitous, but when things are in perfect harmony we rarely give a second thought to the disparate elements at play. The connection between art and architecture is too often forgotten, an example of a harmonious relationship.

Susan Swartz is an artist on a journey, her body of work tells a story – it quietly whispers of her innermost inspirations to those who take the time to simply be with each painting. Over the course of her career, Susan has explored realism, impressionism, expressionism and has recently arrived at a more abstract resting place, her work now leaves more open to interpretation than ever before.

As a classically trained painter, Susan had certainly been exposed to the Pre-Raphaelites, but the Tate exhibition presented them in a new light, as an avant-garde movement. She was especially moved by the vivid natural imagery that appears in Pre-Raphaelite subjects, and by the art movement’s process of intensely looking at nature, which resulted in a new, distinctively modern style.

For a third season, Susan Swartz will be exhibiting in Palm Beach with Michael James Fine Arts. This year Michael James will be featuring Swartz’s most recent paintings at the American International Fine Arts Fair, February 5 – 10, 2013 at the Palm Beach County Convention Center.
