Susan Swartz: Seasons of the Soul, a collection of her boldest landscape paintings to date, examined Swartz's vision of the natural world throughout the changing seasons and through her personal story of resilience and artistic transformation (read the Interview ›)
NMWA Director, Dr. Susan Fisher Sterling said,
Pulsating with dazzling color, Susan Swartz's abstract landscapes simultaneously articulate her awe of the natural world and her rallying cry for its preservation. The NMWA is delighted to showcase her work.
A film and speaker series — Linking Environment, Healing, and Creativity — was produced in conjunction with the exhibition.
The only museum in the world specifically dedicated to recognizing the contributions of women artists, the NMWA features permanent works from such diverse notables as Mary Cassatt, Imogen Cunningham, Georgia O'Keefe, Louise Bourgeois, Frida Kahlo and Joyce Tenneson.
