UTAH WOMEN’S MURAL

In celebration of Women’s Equality Day August 26,2020, Zions Bank sponsored artist Jann Haworth to create a 5000 square foot mural featuring 250 prominent Utah women.  Susan is honored to be featured alongside such trailblazing women leaders in our community.

This mural, while honoring those courageous women of our history – also celebrates the contribution of women living today, who carries on this tradition of pioneering and leadership. It should also inspire us and give us hope for the future, represented by the young children of the mural. That they will finish Utah’s journey to full equality.

So I hope that our young girls will look on pictures of these historic women like Martha Cannon, and look at the Gayle Millers, and the Crystal Maggelets and the Naja Lockwoods, and the Diane Stewarts and the Susan Swartzs and the Sibylle Redfords and the Pat Jones and the Pamela Atkinsons and the Jeanete Herberts of our present day – and see what they have accomplished and see what they are accomplishing and say, ‘I can see it. I can do it. I can be it.’

- Scott Anderson, Zions Bank CEO, remarks from the unveiling ceremony August 26, 2020.

I am truly honored to be included among such inspiring, powerful, and talented women, many of whom I am proud to call my friends. While we have come a long way in regards to women's rights and empowerment, there is still much work to be done.
